Descriptive
Historic site and monument
Caves and shelters containing rock art
A fairyland of rare crystalline formations which make this site unique in the world. Eccentric concretions, aragonite, stalactites, stalagmites, ‘drapery’, etc. - Discovered in 2000, these grottoes consist of an impressive range of fantastic so-called “eccentric” crystallisations which are a true masterpiece of nature. There are also magnificent panels of aragonite, stalactites, stalagmites, fistulous concretions, and so on. - Maxange is now recognised as one of the most beautiful cave concretions in France. When you visit this underground world, it will amaze you both for its quality and the technical resources (sound and light) employed. - A unique site. Easy to visit. Bar. Shop. Children’s play area. Parking. This year, a new gallery will be opened for visitors.
