Monbos Church

The quaint Monbos Church, a pre-Romanesque church dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries, is located in one of Thénac's hamlets.

11th and 12th church with astounding Pre-Romanesque capitals.
Situated in a picturesque and peaceful landscape the church "St. Peter-in-chains" in Monbos attracts many visitors.
The harmony of its Romanesque choir and particularly the capitals are much admired.
They feature erotic and hunting scenes which survived a thousand years of history nearly unscathed. (after Evelyne Bermond-Picot et Gérard Leconte; transl. Les Amis de l'Eglise de MONBOS, A.E.M.)
